At Beamable Engineering Inc., we believe building safety is the ultimate luxury — and we engineer it into every project. From foundations to frames, we bring precision and confidence to every detail.
"A truly luxurious home doesn't just look good — it lasts."
We don't compete with other firms — we compete with the forces of nature itself. Every structure we design is engineered to stand firm against the elements that challenge it most.
At Beamable Engineering Inc., we believe structural integrity is the ultimate luxury. Whether it's a remodel, addition, or seismic upgrade, we bring precision and safety to every detail — because a truly luxurious home doesn't just look good, it lasts.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, we specialize in residential wood framing and foundation systems, designing structures that offer comfort, safety, and confidence for years to come.
Beamable Engineering was founded by Bo Zhang, a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California (License No. C 82956). Bo holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University and a master's in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from the University of Texas at Austin, and now designs safe, resilient structures across the Bay Area — from residential remodels and additions to ADUs and new construction.
Licensed since 2014, Bo personally stamps and stands behind every set of drawings the firm produces. Before turning to structural design, he spent more than a decade in the field — as a project engineer at Shimmick Construction and a project manager at Exponent — hands-on experience that shapes how he engineers today: designs that are practical to build, fewer surprises on site, and an engineer who understands what happens when drawings meet the realities of the job. His focus is residential wood-frame design and foundation systems engineered for California's demanding wind and seismic conditions — pairing technical precision with genuine care for each client's home.
The principles that guide every project, every decision, and every structure we sign our name to.

FAQ
Most wall removals, load-bearing changes, additions, and structural modifications require a licensed Professional Engineer. We help you determine what's needed early — before permits or contractors are involved.
Simple residential projects (wall removals, beam sizing) typically take around 10 business days. Full structural design packages for new construction or additions range from 3–4 weeks depending on complexity and plan check cycles.
We serve the entire San Francisco Bay Area — Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, Alameda County, Contra Costa County, and surrounding areas. Contact us to confirm coverage for your city.
Architects design the look, feel, and layout of buildings. Professional Engineers design the bones — the beams, columns, foundations, and connections that keep buildings safe under gravity, wind, and seismic loads. Many projects need both.
Absolutely. We're happy to work directly with your own contractor or architect — or bring in one of our trusted partners if you don't have one yet. Either way, we coordinate closely with your team and provide RFI responses and field clarifications throughout construction.
